Atlantic Beach Residents Utilize the Lawrence School District
 Lawrence Schools -   Programs to insure that each student in the Lawrence School District achieves his or her potential can be found at every grade level. Future goals adopted by the Board of Education recognize the importance of major economic, technological, and social changes and include steps to keep the staff members and students in the district prepared for the future. Some of the most recent innovative programs initiated in Lawrence Public Schools to enhance student achievement include a focus on differentiating instruction to meet the needs of every learner; implementation of a systematic program of conflict resolution; use of Service Learning activities; and a variety of special services to provide both remediation and enrichment wherever it is appropriate. Lawrence Public Schools continues to offer programs that recognize varied interests and abilities, heighten academic expectations, emphasize a feeling of community and promote self-esteem in each individual student.

Lawrence High School, recognized as a "school of excellence" by New York State Education Department, has also been selected as one of the top 10 schools on Long Island by Long Island Monthly Magazine. Lawrence Students and staff have earned numerous awards and honors.

Lawrence Middle School  (6-8)
Lawrence Middle School is a bridge between elementary and high school.  A place to socialize.  A place where students will master basic skills.  A place for students to explore and achieve.  A place for students to discover more about who they are and what they will become.

Elementary Schools

Number 5 School  (1-5)
Number Five School was built by A.J Bogart in 1926. The school was designed by Kirwin Estabrook Construction Company. One addition to the school´s structure is the playground extentions which were added in the late 1940´s. The entire left wing was added in the mid 1940´s.The original number of students was approximately 1,000. There were approximately 30 children per class. One famous alumni is Lyle Alzado, former football star. The curriculum was basically the same then as it is now.

Pre-K & Kindergarten

Number 4 School  (Pk-K)
The Number 4 School is a beautiful, well maintained building. It is a unique learning environment and a great place to be. We even have a playground inside for when the weather is bad!  Learning takes place through experience, especially in the early childhood years. Number 4 School, with an environment that helps children explore and expand their world,  provides  experiential learning in Science, Conceptual Language, Exploration, Character Education and Technology centers.  Our staff of Early Childhood educators is dedicated and committed to give each and every child the best learning experience possible.
