Garden City South Schools -  Garden City South Residents Utilize Franklin Square Schools.  The Franklin Square School District is committed to educating elementary students by providing a productive learning environment in cooperation with family so that each child is given a solid Foundation for Success in order to become a contributory member of the community by learning, growing and reaching his/her potential.

High School

H. Franklin Carey High School   (7-12)
H. Frank Carey High School is one of five high schools in the Sewanhaka Central High School District of Nassau County.  Carey High School is a junior/senior high school with grades 7-12.  Total population is approximately 1,800 students from surrounding communities such Garden City South, West Hempstead, Elmont, and Franklin Square.  Carey is located in the small Long Island town of Franklin Square, and has become one of the center points of community interaction.  From sports events to club sponsored activities, and don't forget the learning experience, Carey is always busy with many things to see and participate in.

The Polk Street School community is comprised of over 634 students who strive to reach our high expectations for academic achievement and good character, a staff that cares about each and every child and works extremely hard to facilitate students´ success, and parents who are very involved and supportive of our school. At Polk Street School, children develop a love of learning as well as the skills to be successful in school and life. Active learning experiences in a caring, supportive environment nurture our students´ academic, social and emotional growth. As principal, my favorite times of the day are when I walk around the school and visit the students, seeing their excitement about learning.

Washington Street Elementary School  (K-6)
The Washington Street Elementary School  is where learning and improving are keys to success, whether one is a student, teacher or Principal. At Washington Street School, every effort is made to provide the resources necessary for success. Teachers are continually updating their skills, which is reflected in increased student achievement.  Students have been able to achieve due to our success in providing an environment that is conducive to learning.
